The Journal of Financial Education's objective is to bring to the finance discipline important educational research results, innovative classroom approaches and tools to enhance teaching.

The Journal seeks the following kinds of manuscripts:

Educational Research - statistical testing of questions on the educational process
Pedagogical Tools - interesting and unique ways concepts can be covered in class
Financial Cases - learning by applying finance principles to real world-like situations
Review Articles - papers bringing readers up to date on a narrowly defined topic area
Book and Software Reviews - brief looks into sources worthy of further consideration

Style Instructions

Manuscript should be double-spaced using an easily readable font such as Times Roman 13 or Courier 12. Manuscripts should include a cover page with title, authors, and their affiliations. Author(s) name should not appear in the body of the paper. First page of the paper should include paper title, followed by an abstract of not more than 150 words, and then followed by the first section titled "INTRODUCTION."

Except for the items in the above paragraph, there are no strict guidelines on paper format as all other formatting requirements can be easily taken care of after manuscripts have been accepted for publication. For the review process what is important is readability and author anonymity. Thus, the remaining guidelines are significant for accepted papers only.

Up to three levels of section headings are allowed: level one (all caps), level two (left justified with first letter of each world capitalized), and level three (left justified with first letter of each word capitalized and all italicized).

Use endnotes, not footnotes. ENDNOTES section should appear at end of paper, but before REFERENCES section. Place any appendices, tables and figures after references. Tables and figures should be numbered starting with 1 (e.g., Table 1: Research Results Summary). Note in body of paper approximately where tables or figures should be placed using double lines with (insert Table 1 about here) between double lines. Figures must ultimately be provided in camera ready form. Number all equations consecutively and right justify equation number.

References should be noted in body of paper in brackets [Smith, 1991]. All references should appear alphabetically by author's last name in the REFERENCE section as follows:

Jones, R. R., C. King and S. Slack. "Finance for All Seasons," Journal of Financial Behavior, 7 (Fall, 1991), 123-144.

Smith, R. J. Learning by Doing (New York, 1990), 2nd Edition, City Publishing Co.
